Restoration of historic wrought iron doors and cast iron doors usually starts with dismounting the doors, stripping old paint, removing rust, and priming. Missing or broken iron element are repaired or replicated; deteriorated metal may require welding of new pieces. Hardware and closing mechanisms may be repaired or replaced as needed.
