Thin-shell composite moldings are used primarily as lightweight substitutes for original architectural construction materials that are deemed too heavy or too expensive to use in restoration, renovation, or historic preservation projects. Thin-shell molding materials are mainly reinforced fiberglass (FRP) and glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC).
